The history of Thanksgiving stuffing can be traced back thousands of years, with evidence of stuffing appearing in ancient Rome and in the earliest American cookbooks. Fast forward to now, while our food sensitivities or allergies may hold us back from some foods...with some tweaks, this doesn't have to be one of them!
This Thanksgiving Dressing Recipe will be a perfect complement to your turkey and veggies and its super easy to make!
Rosemary Flatbread Thanksgiving Dressing 🦃✨
First, mix up your Vegan Pizza Crust & Flatbread as directed on the back of the pouch, following the instructions for the Rosemary & Sea Salt Flatbread. Bake and then cut or break and toast to dry out. Add the bread pieces to a baking dish.
In a pan, saute a mire poix of celery, carrots and onions until soft. How to make a mire poix:
- 2 cups onions cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 cup celery cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 cup carrots cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
-
Heat oil or butter in a skillet or pot over medium-low heat.
-
Once hot, add in the chopped vegetables. Cook, stirring often, until the vegetables are softened and the onions are translucent. This will take about 10 to 12 minutes. Just make sure that the vegetables do not brown or caramelize – reduce the heat if they start to brown!
Add mire poix to the flatbread baking dish. Add drippings from your turkey (for half flatbread, we added about 1/2 cup drippings). Salt as desired. Bake 20-25 mins.
Dish and enjoy!!
